In 2001, 4 years into her 11 year career as an airline pilot, Kim was diagnosed with MS, which forced her to take a mandatory hiatus from flying. During this break from her airline career, she pursued and completed STOTT PILATES® instructor certification. Over the course of the next decade, she added additional instructor certifications in BASI Pilates® and Yamuna Body Rolling. She is also trained in YogaFit® and Jaya Yoga.

Janae has been practicing Pilates and yoga for 14 years. In 2010 she was introduced to the Pilates equipment (Reformer, Cadillac and Wunda Chair) and learned the benefits of combining both the equipment workout along with the traditional mat work. She has been teaching yoga since 2007 and Pilates since 2011. She completed her Pilates comprehensive teacher training through Body Arts and Science International (BASI Pilates®) in 2012.

Trained in CORE athletic conditioning and performance training. I also have training in pre/post natal work, and pelvic floor restoration.
I started practicing Pilates back in 2011 after suffering with a back injury for 8 years. As a last resort, I finally went and saw a neurosurgeon, thinking surgery was my only option, and she said I wasn't a good candidate and suggested I try Pilates. That single recommendation changed the rest of my life. Pilates was the only thing that provided pain relief and allowed me to get back to the things that I loved to do. I LOVE Pilates but I love helping people even more! Dealing with an injury myself allows me to connect with my clients on a deeper level. I can relate to the mental, physical and emotional strain that goes along with an injury and the toll it can take on your life. If you are suffering with chronic pain, recovering from an injury or just want to get back into your body so you can live life fully, I would love the opportunity to help you with that!

I began practicing Pilates while living and teaching Yoga in Corvallis, OR in 2012. The studio I worked for needed another teacher for Pilates. So, I began training with the senior teachers there. I soon added a Balanced Body Training in Portland, OR with Shelly Stephenson for mat and reformer. I expanded from teaching at the local studio to a small home studio, Oregon State University & LBCC. Teaching Pilates combines my favorites areas of study: anatomy, the mind body connection, physical therapy, functional movement, breath awareness, relaxation and of course fitness. I like the personalization that Pilates allows for every student to get exactly what they need. I've become a huge fan of Navi Pilates. So, you will see me practicing in classes too. When I'm not teaching or taking Pilates, I'm a Massage Therapist in Tacoma.
