Testimonial / Thank you letter from one of our clients to Kim Burris....
“As I return to work, almost 6 months after giving birth, I want to thank you (Kim Burris) for getting me back to normal. I had a rough pregnancy, lengthy delivery via unplanned C-section, and healing complications. By the time I was cleared to exercise, I was so out of shape that I was lost as to how to even start.
Almost three months after giving birth, I started coming once a week to the group reformer class. I had almost no strength and would shake while holding table top, plus I had no flexibility. It was hard to get up and off the reformer to change the springs even. You (Kim Burris) worked with me to do as much as I could, provided encouragement, and guided me in understanding the healing process for my abs. After my first class, the swelling in my abs had decreased almost as much as it had decreased in the entire month prior! It was clear that gently exercising my abs was the key to my recovery from a C-section.
With each class, the swelling went down more as I gained strength and flexibility. I soon was able to add daily walks and was amazed to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight in 11 weeks doing solely low impact activities! I credit you with turning things around for me and can't thank you enough! I highly recommend you and Navi Pilates to everyone who has experienced a C-section! Thank you!”

“In 2004 I injured my lower back pretty severely. I had 2 bulging/degenerated disks, L4/L5, that had slipped and hit my sciatic nerve. I lost about 25lbs of muscle and could hardly walk. At that time I was only 19 years old and a freshman in college. From that point on my life completely changed.
As an athlete I had to give up many things that I loved to do. I tried everything to get some sort of pain relief like physical therapy, massage therapy, chiropractic care, acupuncture, pain killers, muscle relaxers, and countless epidural injections. It wasn’t until about 2011 that I finally had, had enough and decided to look into the one thing I said I would never do; surgery. I saw a neurosurgeon up at Swedish in Seattle who discovered I had an additional tear in my L5/S1 and told me that I was not a good candidate for surgery, but recommended that I try Pilates. This time my life changed for the better.
I started seeing Wendy for private sessions 1-2 times a week and got strong enough to start the classes. I am constantly telling people that Pilates saved my life. It physically, mentally and emotionally strengthened me! I am forever grateful to Wendy and the Navi Pilates studio!”
